The total area of the project is 1,340,216 square meters, with 340,000 square meters allocated for roads, children’s playgrounds, promenades, and other open facilities, in addition to green spaces and gardens covering approximately 180,000 square meters.
Emlak Konut Project in Collaboration with Turkish Airlines 2023
At the beginning of 2023, Emlak Konut, in collaboration with Turkish Airlines, announced the start of the first residential project in the Dursunköy-Arnavutköy area along the new Istanbul Canal. The project opened the door for a lottery for Turkish citizens with installments starting from 7,500 Turkish liras. The contract signed by Emlak Konut with the implementing construction company is valued at 2.157 billion Turkish liras.
The project details include the construction of 12,585 housing units and 450 commercial areas on a total land area of one million square meters, half of which is owned by Emlak Konut GYO. It is noteworthy that in 2018, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the construction of residential units in Dursunköy-Arnavutköy along the new Istanbul Canal for employees of the third Istanbul airport. It was planned to build 14,000 homes in phases and sell at least 3,000 of them to Turkish Airlines employees via lottery.

Construction of a Cement Port on the Black Sea Coast
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change approved the construction of the “Çiftalan Marmara” port on the Black Sea coast of the Istanbul Canal on June 2, 2023. The cost of the port, supervised by YD Madencilik Anonim Şirketi, is 72 million Turkish liras. The total project area is estimated at 8,347 square meters, with a 200-meter-long dock to allow two ships to dock side by side.
Alibaba Holding’s Investment in Istanbul Airport
The Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba announced an investment of over one billion dollars to build a logistics center at the new Istanbul Airport in the Arnavutköy area, the largest area of the new city Yenişehir located along the Istanbul Canal.
